Background
I have a Bachelor of Science in Graphics from Western Michigan University. I created a tailored cirriculum: Part of my courses were geared toward the technical aspects of 3D, and part were geared toward art. This combination of art and technical have given me the capabilites I need to create great visual effects. Incedentally, I did the first thesis project in computer animation at WMU.

During and after college for a time of about three years, I did freelance work. For two years following that, I owned a small business called Choreo Motion which served as my sole source of income. While my company was financially successful, I found myself spending more time being a coordinator and salesman than being an artist.

Subsequently I hired into a communications firm, Nucleus Communications, where I had been employed as a Multimedia Producer. I departed Nucleus after four years of employment to take a sabbatical, so to speak, to refocus my carrer on Visual FX work. I freelanced for about a year prior to hiring into Digital Dimension in North Hollywood, California, where I am currently employed doing high-end Visual FX work for film and television.

Experience:
2000-Present: Digital Dimension.
Sr. Technical Director Responsibilities: Complete Visual FX shots for Film and Television, Manage Various Beta Programs, Develop House Graphics Pipeline.

1999-2000: Freelance / Sabbatical

1996-1999: Nucleus Communications. Responsibilities: Development of 3D and 2D animated artwork for Video, CD, and the Web. Development of conceptual artwork, sketches, and storyboards.

1992-1996: Freelance / Small Business. Responsibilities: Delivering finished, pre-edited animations for companies such as Pharmacia & Upjohn, Greenstone Healthcare Solutions.

Education:
1992-Present: SIGGRAPH annual conference. I have attended every conference since 1992 and have taken many of SIGGRAPH’s instructional courses.

1993: BS in Graphics from Western Michigan University.

Ongoing: I regularly perform studies of artistic concepts and techniques. I am active in animation forums and read animation-related literature on a regular basis.
